Johnston Alum, Jessica Pray, Finishes in Top Ten in Miss America competition
Jessica Pray, Class of 2010, made it through to the top ten during the Miss America competition on Saturday, January 14. Her talent for the pageant was classical vocal and her pageant platform was “Saving Lives Through Blood Donation”. Jessica took a year off from attending the University of Iowa to serve as Miss Iowa. She is double majoring in vocal performance and theater arts and plans to pursue a singing career.

The class will be hosting a "Classmates Against Cancer" Court Ave Crawl on Saturday night, August 13th to honor fellow classmate Brenda Mitchell Van Heukelom who has been fighting cancer for over a year. Proceeds will benefit the Des Moines chapter of the Leukemia Lymphoma Society. T-shirts are also for sale. Please email lisashanley@hotmail.com by July 25 for more information.
